Amanpulo Resort: Paradise on Earth

Amapulo Resort is the Best Resort in the Philippines

If you ask me what is my favorite place to relax here on Earth, I will answer only one - the beautiful island resort of Amanpulo. Not that I can afford to go there but I'm one of the few lucky ones who was able to go there and go there for free. And let me tell you, my trips there had made me realize that, for me, nothing can compare to this resort. Let me describe why.

Amanpulo is an island-resort in Palawan, Philippines. It is a member of the Amanresorts, those luxurious resort hotels located around the globe. An award-winning resort, it is simply simply beautiful.

The resort boasts of 40 casitas (small houses) in the style of Philippines "bahay-kubo". Five casitas are located on the hillside, four on treetops and the rest just in front of the pristine white beach. If you chose the last, you will only be a few steps away from the beautiful shore. Each casita comes with its own king-size bed, flat TV and CD/DVD player. But that's only half of the casita. The other half is dedicated to the spacious bathroom, with its own jacuzzi and walk-in closet.

The resort is surrounded by white, very fine sand (so fine that you cannot use them in the aquarium because they will clog the water's passageway) and clear blue waters (did I mention there are also a lot of corals surrounding the resort?). Beach and sea lovers who want to relax in a peaceful quiet place will really enjoy this place. The food is great (they have a first-class chef), the staff are friendly, the view is spectacular and the environment, restful. If you want to venture out into the sea and to other islands, you can go island-hopping, snorkeling and scuba diving.

Some of my pictures from this place are attached for your enjoyment. If you want to know more about Amanpulo, just go to http://www.amanresorts.com/amanpulo/resort.aspx.

Hi Madurai.

Based on their website and if you go there between now and Oct. 31, 2009, the cheapest will be approximately $4,000, inclusive of the roundtrip fare from Manila to the island and exclusive of your plane fare to Manila, the food and other fees for some of the activities there (not sure about the last one, there's no available info on the website).

Emie this looks absolutely divine! I would love to spend some time there but its probably out of my reach too?

Have you written any hubs on affordable island holidays in your country? Now that would interest me a lot! I hope you have and I'll check back here in a day or two to see if you've been able to reply.

Thanks travelespresso. Don't know about your reach but we estimated that if one person will go there for 3 days, 2 nights, his / her budget should be hmmmmm, about $2,500 - inclusive of rooms, food, plane fare to the island :).

Affordable island holidays? Great idea! I'll try to write some hubs in December about places to stay here. Thanks for the suggestion :).

Thanks Emie - that price is definitely not in the "flashpacker" category.

I'll look forward to these hubs. I think there will be interest in hubs like that. I hope so anyway.
